I am considering adding a 12'x20' portable shed near our pond. Does anyone have any information on how the commercial ones are standing up to the elements. OSB construction with urethane coating sprayed on. Old Hickory and Premier are two brand names that are available in the area. I was wondering if delaminating would a problem or have they been on the market to be time tested? The price seems to be in the $6000 to $7000 area with a roll up door, walk through door and 2 windows.

Thanks in advance for any input.

I wanted to build a small tool shed just to keep fishing equipt. and such down by the pond. It ended up being about the size you speak of. After pricing new "shells" of sheds I built my own. With electric, insulation,ac, and heat only cost $2000. Has a small bed, microwave, Direct tv,and a coffee pot. All I need!! It is built much much better than the ones you buy. Might check with a local carpenter if you are not able to build it yourself. Just my thoughts. Good luck

Have you considered a shipping container? You can get them about that size for little money. They can be made to tolerate the weather and are pretty much vandal proof. What do you plan to use the shed for? If just tool storage or fishing gear storage you probably don't need anything too elaborate.

If you plan to use it as shelter for camping etc. It may be more practical to buy a used camper or pop up to move into place as needed.

Those or just some of my thoughts and things that i have kicked around and/or researched.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to have a carpenter build one on site for us. I feel we will have a better built buidking for about $2000 less.
