Hi all. I built a floating dock with the ramp just like 2Old2Soon did here: pond boss I am worried about the dock moving side to side and breaking up everything. Should I use some pipe and drive it into the bed of the pond and attach it to the dock via a bracket? Also, because the ramp is attached to the shore won't the dock bracket hole have to be much larger than the diameter of the pipe because as the water level rises and lowers the distance to the end of the dock with change? Any ideas?

BB - that's how I did it, and my pond can change levels 2 feet or better. I just drove 2 inch pipe into the pond bed and made up some brackets that bolted to the dock. I used 3" square tubing as the 'collar' - because that's what I had.
5 years later it's still there, no major issues other than me not using big enough lag bolts to bolt the walkway to the dock.
