Besides bullheads being purposedly put in a pond, is there any other way they could get there. There is not a connecting waterway what so ever to pond being talked about.

Nope

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I agree with Dave, BUT, they could have been put in the pond as a hitchiker with some other baitfish, like if someone dumped their minnow bucket in the pond after a day of fishing.

I have seen them hitch hike in with CC stockings mostly, sometimes with FHM or accidental baitfish dumping...

well if they can swin up a slope like GSF then they may be able to get there, even if the source is somewhere you would never think it to be.

Or at least that happened to me.

Just my $.02

But really they probably were in some FHM or that is where I have seen the most.

I hope I did not get any with my CC, but the size you get you should be able to tell.

I'm new here, I assume CC means channel catfish. What does FHM stand for?

I thought Bullheads could come from birds dropping them or bring the eggs?

Much like human babies, birds do not bring them to your pond... They are either brought there by humans either on purpose or accidentally. Or, they find a natural way to get their such as swimming up or down a water flow that connects to your pond during a high water event...

What!!!???!!! Some one has some explaining to do. Hahaha
Ive got a butt load of bullheads in my pond. Non are big enough to eat though. They eat up all the food i thow in. The only plus side is, they are fun to catch. Im sure the coons and possums are enjoying them lol. I been using doughbait and small tackle. Its a bit of a challange to set the hook on them, but they are pretty scrappy

Have you tried trapping them? May be able to remove more in a shorter period of time that way...

There are some threads on here about how to build traps. They aren't that hard or overly expensive to build... Try a forum search for trapping bullheads etc. Should get you started... If you can't find anything, I'll see if I can help or someone else can.
