Hello all. New here and not even sure if this is the correct place to post this so sorry in advance.
I run an equestrian facility and on the property is what used to be a pond. It currently has pine trees growing in it. The largest trees are around 7-8 inches wide. there is a ( bare with me on the terminology, I’m new to this pond thing.) large pvc pipe that I assume is for water over flow. I am told there is a natural spring the needs to be uncovered to fill it. But the back side of it is graded like a retention pond and I have found pipes from our well that run to the pond. Could it possibly be filled from that? So I guess my questions are, how do I confirm there is a spring? What is the pvc pipe with the basket for the runs into the bottom. And also can I just cut the trees down as close to the ground as I can and leave the stumps or do they need to be bulldozed? Sorry for the loaded post.

Seems to me that a spring should leave a wet spot somewhere. Hope it isn’t one. Unless it is above the pond those things both take and give water. Can you post some pictures?
