Pond Boss Forums POND CONSTRUCTION Renovating a Pond or Lake? grass problem

I have an old farm pond that is a 1/4 acre. It is about 6-8 feet deep. The main problem with it is that there is grass starting to take over the pond, making it smaller and smaller each year. What are my options? There are no fish in this pond, but someday I would like to put a few in there. Any help would be great.

Is this grass on the soil out of the water, or growing in the water? Would it be possible to post a picture or two of it?

it is growing from the soil through the water. But the water level is getting higher. The picture was taken this last week when I was up at the cabin, and it is a 3 hour drive. I'll see what I have for more pictures.

Aquastar or Shore-klear liquid are both Isopropylamine salt of glyphosate based and should work. I'm sure that there are other brands out there, this is just what I found on the internet in a quick search. Give Greg Grimes a shout. I'm sure he can help. Greg's business

At some point you may want to think about re-working the pond.
The grass will not grow in deep water. If you work on the pond cut the shore line deeper- that will help in the long run.
