Try watching that without a lump in your throat and a tear in your eye.
Awesome George.

They willingly placed themselves in harm's way and gave up all of their tomorrows so we could have today.

Thank you george1. Loved the picture at the 3:00 minute mark. I bow to the ones who gave some and honor the ones who gave all.
To bad the world has to be like this!

Thanks George...........and the rest of you. When I was a kid I'd run outside to see a herc fly over and think how cool it would be to ride in one of those some day.Now days I feel some bittersweet things when i see a herc.
The types of things I rarely talk about, but we had a herc gunship drop tracer rounds just a few feet above our heads save our ass's while taking massive fire............on down to my evac and the hardest was my best friend of 26 years last flight to Dover.
So yeah that one choked me up a bit.

Yeah Robert, I understand. Brian (Highflyer) won't talk about that stuff either, but that may have been him flyin' that C-130. Thanks to all who have served! George

My father would not talk about WWII until very late in life. He flew a torpedo bomber (Avenger) off the Enterprise in WWII. On attach runs they often had an attrition rate of 75%. With those survival rates you were lucky to make one battle - most never came home even in a box. Their coffin was their torn apart plane on the bottom of the ocean.

George if I had it to do all over again, even while knowing what I know now I would.
The service allowed me to chase dreams I never thought possible, though at a cost I will never forget.
