I'm not familiar with the publication, so I went to the link you listed. I'd stay away from it because the description has so many grammatical errors. That is never a good indication of quality.

Having spent a number of years in the printing/graphics/editing and publishing/bindery business, it appears to be self-published, self-printed, and self-bound. That is not bad for really unique, low volume publications. However, these publications generally include some type of serious and valuable research findings that appeal to a specific and small population. I don't think this book fits that category, however I could be totally wrong.

When we edited, printed, bound, and published pieces like the one listed, they were generally an ego trip for the person preparing it. We were usually the only ones who profited from such endeavors.

Caveat Emptor,,

BoyScout,

After posting what I said above, and then looking at your profile, I'm thinking you could be in a fantastic position to learn more than most people could ever absorb about fishing, by getting involved with some local fishing friends and groups.

You are not that far from great reservoir fishing, river fishing, tidal fishing, and Chesapeake fishing. The Potomac, and its tributaries, are amongst the best smallmouth fisheries anywhere. Not to ridicule in any way, but you are real close to where the snakeheads were first found -- and now they are becoming a prized sport and eating fish, and they haven't decimated the local population of largemouth bass, bluefish, white perch, or rockfish, as was feared.

Look around at opportunities -- through scouting, 4-H, FFA, Aux Coast Guard, and many other community and service organizations.

You are in an incredible area for a mind-boggling number of fresh and salt-water fish and shell fish opportunities.

Ken

Plus, those who flagrantly hold their fish at arm's length to make them appear extremely huge in photographs can't be trusted to tell the truth.

Ain't that the truth! Even trophy bluegill can look really small when not held correctly.
