As some of you already know from confersations at the conferance,I borrowed a bobcat skidsteer about a year ago. While at PB3 I recieved a call that they would be picking it up when I got back home.Last week I mentioned to my wife I was thinking about digging another small pond in the back of our property and it went something like this.

Hey hun,I think I'll dig a small pond out back and try to raise some trophy bluegill in it.
She said...That would be OK,but you should have thought of that brfore Charlie said he wanted the Bobcat back. He'll be picking it up any day now.
I said..he already picked it up.
She said...No he didnt,He just dropped off the trailor, thier both still out back.
I said...No,he already picked it up.The Bobcat and trailor out back are the ones I baught the next day to work with this spring.
Well, she got "THE LOOK" on her face and got kinda quite. She's been that way ever since. You think maybe she caught something, should I make her a doctors appointment or something?

I think you should make a doctor's appointment.

Not for her but for you.

Chances are you're gonna need it.

Sleep with your shoes on and one eye opened. Have you notified your next of kin? I got a feeling your Bobcat purchase may cost you more than you thought…..diamonds and gold come to mind.

Fish Wife would like a Bobcat, but would be happier with a trackhoe. With the possibility that Mrs. G feels the same, you keep the bobcat and get her a trackhoe.

I have not scaled my purchases up to skid steer levels, yet. I still get the "LOOK" whenever I bring home any highly important piece of equipment she sees as useless.

Wait a second. Don't they dig graves with those Theo? Tom - not sure you want to go there !!! Then she would have all the tools. The skillet to knock some sense out of you , a Bobcat to move you over to where the trackhoe had dug the hole. \:o -- \:D

Tom, I spent 10k last year on my hot rod. I'm now down another 15k so far out of our savings trying to get her to say we are even now. To date, all new appliances in the kitchen house is only 12 yrs old but apparently the color was out of date, new leather sofa 6500$ and a new dinning set don't ask. Next is the new chandler over that 7 ft long table yet to be picked out. And have I mentioned the curtains to cover that 40 ft x 20 ft tall wall of glass that is fading the new 6500$ sofa and 7ft long table. It’s also causing glare problems with all that new shinny stainless in the kitchen. The hotrod is now for sale. See link

Tom I hope you got plenty of $ to get your self out of this mess or at least a good line of credit. I’m not sure how much you will be in for.

I was much smarter on that deal. When I bought it I said this is yours honey enjoy it. I haven't told her any different. Of course I have to ask to borrow it every time I ride it but it's cheaper that way.

Tom, when my hubby even mentions making such an expensive purchase I usually halt him in his tracks by asking him what Dentist he wants to use. The first time when he asked me "For what?" I had to explain that the said Dentist would be re-installing his front teeth for him. \:D

Wish you lots of luck and if all else fails you might end up being a great whistler!!

If it's not fit for you to eat, what makes you think it's good for your dog?

Anna:

Tell Mark that I have a dental tech in the family that makes false teeth. Much easier to replace when the next purchase comes around.

Anna,If I want it really bad,I keep my mouth shut till AFTER I buy one. Then she cant tell me no.

Rocky, after leaving the master bath unfinished while I went to PB2,it cost me new carpet, living and greatroom, new hardwood floor in dining, kitchen and laundryroom, new kitchen counters and sink, all new livingroom funiture and 2 bathroom remodels.I probably should have built a new house. Now shes talking a new metal roof.

Tom, I use your sneaky way for small items. For tractors and such, I have to justify them to the boss financially. I start adding up all the money they will save, and at some point she says "So, we're gonna be rich! Yea, right!" and the deal is done.

I sold her the pond digging expenses by telling her that water was a great investment. After all, I said, a bottle of the good stuff costs a quarter, and the pond will hold about 6 million bottles. Again, we're rich... regular water tycoons.

My anniversary gifts to my wife over the first 10 years have went something like this:

1st-tool set
2nd-Oxy/acetylene cutting torch
3rd-Arc welder
4th-D19 loader tractor
5th-chain hoist
6th-ATV (used)
7th-riding mower
8th-1/2 inch electric impact wrench
9th-air compressor
10th-20 inch Husqvarna chain saw

For some reason she don't look forward to our anniversary as much as I do.
