Middle of August, temps in the 70's, it has been raining for days, water going over the spillway and the grass is tall and green. We are in high cotton in north east Texas.

High cotton here in Missouri too, or should I say "High Ragweed"! The grasses and weeds are loving it.

I'm not liking the weather here.Today is the day they are supposed to start building my pond and it rained a little this morning and they show a chance of rain every day this week.

We could use an inch or two or rain. No rain to speak of for the last 2 weeks. Can't complain about the temps and humidity for the past 2 weeks though!!

Got 1.3 inches early yesterday morning and almost 0.4 inches today. Looks like the rain is over for today. Both were slow rains.

I got 3.5" last week and little over 1" today. Pond has been full and overflowing most of the summer. Crazy year compared to last summer.

Stopped by my place Sunday afternoon after a trip to NW Texas. We had gotten a 2.7 inch rain Friday night with a lot of wind. A moderate sized branch had broken off a tree and came down on a guy wire attached to the metal stack from my wood burning stove. Got some water in the house. Went up and fixed it yesterday. Not much got in the house so no real big deal.
Talked to a neighbor who said that the Bowie Texas area had received enough rain to qualify as the 7th rainiest year since records had been kept. And yet, every pond in the area is 3 to 4 ft low. I need a RAIN.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I talked to a friend in Hunt county that said they got 10"+ of rain last week.
I was impressed the the 4" we got here in Van Zandt county.

We are still 12-14 inches low. Like you Pat...1/2 inch at a time. That's not even helping to wash my aglime in!!! But it has been only 15 months since I stocked 4 inch Florida lmb and this morning I caught my first 14 inch one!!! It weighed exactly 1 and 1/2 pounds. Looked real healthy and %100 relative weight!! Completely had the whole tiny torpedo in its mouth!! What a strike and what a thrill!!
Dear Alcohol, We had a deal where you would make me funnier, smarter, and a better dancer... I saw the video... We need to talk.

Yep, pond full in August is a surprise. I wish so much of my "limed" water wouldn't flow out of the pond and get replaced by low alkalinity and low PH rainfall and runoff. I'll have to check alkalinity soon and seem about getting more.
