Hello.
I have a small forage pond 70 feetx40 feet, with only crayfish in it.
I have a chance to have 3 kind of minnow.
Central mudminnow, Fathead minnow, Bluntnose minnow.
What do you think if I put them together with the crayfish in my forage pond.

If I could get BNM, I would get them going since they seem to persist longer than other small forage.

I know nothing about colder climates and fish. However, I have a concern about them spawning and over spawning; leading to a potential DO crash without a predator.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Hello.
Am I right.
Outside the breeding season, the major difference I see between Fathead and Bluntnose, the lateral band on the flanks does not make head on the Fathead minnow.

The FHM, BNM and mudminnow will co-exist to provide lots of small forage fish. However the the larger mudminnows will eat invertebrates and small fish so you might want to leave them out of the forage pond because the minnow production will be higher without mudminnows. I would use the mudminnow only if you want larger forage items. YP eating pellets will do very well with just FHM & BNM.
