I tend to get it early, must be close to where they mail it out.
Re aeration case study, what is fascinating is that aeration clearly & dramatically increased total biomass of the pond, which is great. But bass numbers rose even faster, so average LMB size decreased -- a lot.
Don't know if this pattern would hold in every BOW, but it is something to consider before aerating. Biomass carrying capacity will almost certainly increase substantially, but what exactly will fill that capacity?

November/December Pond Boss Mag just arrive today. It's like a Christmas present that I open early. Unfortunately, I'll read the whole mag tomorrow and want a new one on Wednesday. Haha.

Just a good reminder what can happen without management, LMB population explosion led to skinnier fish despite increased biomass.

I can see aeration increasing total biomass, my guess is that the LMB population was already skewed to the heavy side when aeration began and aeration exacerbated it, ponds rarely stay well balanced without active management.

Shorty, that's one of the things I've had to learn. Always thought ponds naturally balanced themselves, but that's not true. Now I have a survey done every year & take action based on the results. If I hadn't, I'd be singing the blues about a pond full of stunted F LMB with great genetics!
