i just bought a house 1acre pond 17ft deep! Its only got bass in the pond now! but i would like to put some gills and perch in the pond. i dont no the size of the bass or how many, but im going to have a fish party to try to catch alot of them and take them out of the pond(plain to leave some to help control the fish)! i wanted to try to catch some fish from other ponds to stock it with! i no gills are on there beds so good time to throw some of those n there! but i wish i had a place close to catch some nice perch to throw in there! i will probably have to buy some wish to stock with like red ears and some perch! if u could give me ideas the pond is 8yrs old also!

Measure the length and weight of all the bass you catch. Then get a relative weight chart and figure out what kind of body condition they're in. They're probably all super skinny and you'll likely need to remove several dozen pounds worth to balance the population.
How about some pictures?

Well I have been out catching bass out of the pond there is tons of them I have took out 70 so far they mostly are 10in a lot of smaller ones but I have caught one at 22in. I have put in 90BG so far they r all 5in or bigger most are 7in got about 10 of them 9in or bigger! I have put one walleye in also he was 14in. I plain on putting 150 BG in and try to catch 9 more walleye to put in there before winter. I hope I'm doing the right thing so far! I have let the bass I have caught 16in or bigger back.

Need weights and lengths to be able to judge for sure but it sure sounds like it was bass-crowded.

I have stocked the pond with 170 gills so far, I have a lot of BG minnows now and have took out a total of 240 bass so far! The bass r getting more fat then they were when I first fished the pond! Still got a lot of bass. I was wondering if maybe I should stop stocking the gills? I just don't want them to over take pond in time. The average size of gills stocked are 6in. I hope to start catching some perch to put in there soon. I have a lot of cattails is why I think the minnows survive. Got lots of bass minnow also. Should maybe I think of stocking something else to help with the LMB population?
