Does anyone have any information regarding the feasibility of hatching f-2's indoors and what the outcome would be if this were done. Usually the second generation reverts closer to one of the parent species, correct?

Never heard of an F-2 HSB. I know it is possible but very unlikely in lakes or ponds (functionally but not morphologically sterile). Not sure about in an RAS with moving water.

Not sure, but I don't think the generations ever get closer to previous generations...
Eric?

Just do it...

Can't go back but you can get bad traits from both and the mixed traits can be worse. Rarely are successive generations better after the first cross (F1). Many people associate the poor FX generations as reverting to the bad traits of one of the parentals. That is not true in the genetic sense but is called outbreeding depression due to all the mixed up sorting of genes that is occurring.
