A lady was telling her neighbor that she saw a man driving a pick-up truck
down the interstate, and a dog was hanging onto the tailgate for dear life!
She said if the pick-up truck driver hadn't been going so fast in the other direction, she would have tried to stop him.
A few weeks later, her neighbor saw this truck at the local Bass Pro Shop.

The pick-up truck driver is a local taxidermist with a great sense of humor!
And it is not a dog; it is a Coyote.

Guys,

Please don't take this the wrong way but I have a problem with "joke" or "novelty" mounts. I prefer an animal be mounted in a dignified way as they are creatures of God too. Of course that's just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions.

So asking you to do a Jackalope is out of the question, huh?

Kinda like that Jack*** episode on MTV when Johnny Knoxville is taking his elderly but still alive grandmother from taxidermy shop to taxidermy shop trying to get her mounted... Kinda sick, but it was perty funny. His grandmother was playing right along and having a fun time messing with the guys.

A elderly lady that lives down the street from my German relatives wanted to get her dog bred. Someone thought it would be funny to send her to the town's brothel. Not knowing any better she showed up at the door and a lovely lady answered. The elderly lady said, "I'm here to have my dog bred." Needless to say she got the door slammed in her face.

I hate to admit it but I find those Jack*** things pretty hysterical. Anybody see the one where the guy was climbing a rope over some hungry alligators with only a jock strap on with a dead chicken pinned to it?

I don't want to start a debate over it but personally I don't see anything wrong with humorous or novelty displays. Some day I shall have a Jackalope hanging in my den.

I know the world record for GSF is just over 2 pounds (I think 2 pounds 2 ounces) but I have no idea the length of the fish.

I am not surprised. You've never shown any remorse over the number of naugas that gave their hides just so you could have a couch.

I'll admit that I feel extreme guilt over my plush couch, matching arm chair, ottoman, and bar stools.

So much so that I was a major contributor to the "Save the Naugas" campaign last year.

No offense take Rockytopper. Just expressing my opinion that was not asked for.

I know the coyote is really hated by people but you've got to admit that is one smart and adaptable critter.

Here in saskatchewan the gov't put a $20 bounty on them because we are over run. I seen 8 today in my 500km drive but I think they are starting to breed. We woke up one Nov/09 morning and there was 9 coyotes feeding on a deer they killed during the night. My wife shot 2 that day out of the living room window with my 300 wsm at 350 yds and she was 5 months pregnant. "YOU MIGHT BE A REDNECK IF"!!!!

I have to wonder if the bounty thing works. Seriously. I was under the impression when you killed more the litters just get bigger.

I like to make fun of some guys in the Maine category of a website I go to. They are always screaming, "The coyotes are killing our dear!" I then ask them, Don't we as hunters kill a lot more?

It's all just a cycle 3 or4 years ago we had millions of gophers and rabbits and deer. Now we have coyotes that I am guessing are going to be hungry in the next year or 2.

So the plan it to reduce the coyotes so the gopher and rabbits come back, so the coyotes will increase in numbers again?

I am 90% sure that I have seen that somewhere. If not for real, maybe I saw it online. Personally, I think the story you told was funnier than the mounting on the back of the truck, but to each his own. We've got a couple very mangy coyotes at our farm recently. Had a shot at one a couple weeks ago, but it wasn't as clear as I would have liked so I just watched him run off.

Justin just finished taxidermy school and after he finishes all the deer we have frozen, we are going to definitely start making jackalopes! Thats the first thing I asked if he learned how to do when he got home!!!

Here is a pic of his first deer just about completed:
