Forum readers may recall that Cecil, in cooperation with the forum moderators, created a wonderful diorama for display at South Dakota State University. Those who attended the 2008 conference got to see it. Well, the stand for the diorama arrived yesterday. So, here are some photos. At first, we were going to put the diorama into our aquatic teaching lab. However, we instead placed it inside a room that has glass panels opening to the public hallway. That way, many more people can see the quality of Cecil's work. Here is a close-up of the diorama, from inside the room. Here is the plaque.

Thanks Dave , Bob and Cecil for the work and Bruce , Bill and Cecil for the fish. So realistic that if you made it look like there was water in the tank most would think it was an aquarium.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

It is so realistic that ones gets disgusted when looking at the bullhead.
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

That's beautiful. It's really funny that even though I was selecting and breeding these fish I didn't think I deserved to call it "Condello Strain", but now I have the de facto title.

Makes us proud to know Cecil and the program that Dave runs. It is a beautiful piece of work.
In Dog Beers, I've had one.

In the future, newbies will wonder if the "Condello Strain" is named after the physical strain required to land them. Or, maybe the physical strain to photograph them.
