Chris, it looks good to me. I also have a tendency to use "materials at hand". Of course, my wife says I keep junk. I call it surplus building material.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Mighty fine indeed!!! Low water conditions are a great time to get it done! Can't wait to see it full.

Are the pipes sticking up for rod holders or seats?

I love it. To build in the dry is a joy. Could you imagine building this under water. I've done it and trust me it's not fun. Now prey for water.

Dave, yep I call most stuff hubby has junk, but he says "Ya never know what cha might need." We have lots of surplus building material. Thanks for all the compliments guys, I really like it. We are thinking of building the little island up some more too, and then building a arch bridge to it. We just have to wait for the time to get it done. I have lots of plans for makeing the pond a little better place. Straight across form the dock I would like to put rock and make a water fall, that is where a lot of our runoff comes in any way and I think it would help keep it from washing out. But like I said it will take time.

I'd say the pipes sticking up could serve many uses in sort of a quick-change drop-in set-up. A railing could be used when little ones are on the dock. It would be a good place to mount a couple of bassboat seats, bench seat, fish feeder or even a post for a lantern. It might even work to launch some mortars or bottle rockets on Independence Day.

That sounds right up hubbys ally, he always finds things to blow off on the 4th. I'm sure that hubby get tired of hearing: "The guys on Pond Boss said to (enter project here)." I have enough to keep him busy through retirement. :p
