Maybe you guys can add to this list
You can learn a lot while fishing. Lessons I have learned from fishing:
Physics - For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction - sometimes a wet one if you try to step out of a jon boat.
Chemistry - Chemical reactions change things - put plastic worms in the wrong kind of plastic box to prove this theory
Biology - The main two characteristics of animals are they eat and reproduce. But fish also play games with me, showing me how little I know about them.
English - There is a word for every event - but most of them used while fishing aren't printable here.
Psychology - Humans are the only intelligent animal - if so, why does it seem the fish usually outsmart me?
Math - Numbers are consistent and always mean the same thing to everyone - unless you are talking about the weight of a fish you caught.
Physiology - Animals have ways of protecting themselves - I prove this way too often when grabbing a catfish spine or bluegill fin.
Sex Education - Some scents attract the opposite sex - fishy hands is not one of them.
Spelling - You can learn your alphabet and letters from bass plugs - Big O, Little N, Deep Wee R, Shadrap X Series, Bomber Model A and on and on.
Science - Cold blooded fish react slower in cold water - This may be true but they can still react faster than I can during the winter, that is why I miss so many bites.
Philosophy - If something can go wrong, it will - Hook the biggest fish of your life and this definitely comes into play.
Physical Education - Exercise makes you healty - If so, why do I keep gaining weight even though I spend day after day standing in a boat on one foot while casting and reeling.
Health - Repetitive motions can create joint and muscle problems - That is why my hands, wrists, elbows and sholders ache all the time - too much casting for too many years.
What lessons have you learned from fishing?
In Dog Beers, I've had one.

Your spouse will either outfish you or claim you sabotaged their rod/reel/line/lure/bait.

A fish can hurt you in more ways than you would expect....especially if you've been drinking.
Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:" "She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."

Dentistry: If a northern pike has taken a lure deep, use a hemostat.

Physics-Two year old grandchildren think water is solid...so they take their first turn trying to walk on it. Baseball-Two year old grandchildren absolutely believe every rock in the drive is supposed to be thrown into the water, now. Patience-Two year old grandchildren don't love to fish, they love to catch. Flexibility-Two year old grandchildren can get near the water much, much faster than 50-something grandparents. Nutrition-Two year old grandchildren will eat anything while fishing, crackers, cookies, worm dirt, rocks, cookies, grass, twigs, cookies.
Teach a man to grow fish... He can teach to catch fish...

Medical-All boys between 2 and 10 are bulletproof and indestructable. Religion-The lord in his wisdom made kids that bounce very well, forgot about grandparents nerves though.

Grandparents -- Are genetically wired to take grandkids fishing and forget about the their worn out nerves (teaching them about Patience is a virtue) - even if there are 4 of them with cane poles in the boat at the same time.

When you and your brother-in-law load all of your fishing gear into your canoe and carry it over a very long distance over rough terrain to get to a remote and rarely fished pond (can you feel the anticipation?), put the canoe in the water, push off really, really hard to get a good float out into the middle of the pond....it is absolutely essential that you remember the paddles...
It is also important that your brother-in-law knows what poison ivy looks like -- especially since he likes to cast into it over and over again. Now I know why it is a rarely fished pond.

A lesson I never seem to learn, after the first cast, tighten the drag, not open the beer. Invariably the first bite was made by the largest fish.
