With the high temperatures and historic lack of rainfall, my pond has dropped to just under 3 feet deep in the middle. Obviously it would've been advantageous to start fishing when the water was cooler and deeper but I took a summer class at Texas A&M the first half of the summer and then went on vacation with family, so my efforts to catch as many fish as possible before I run out of water started just last week. I've been using watermelon-colored flukes to catch 8 of 38 largemouth bass from Overton's stocked in April of 2017 (none of the blue catfish stocked at the same time have been seen or caught), but I'm curious as to what other angling (or other) methods you guys have had success with when it comes to getting to your fish before the buzzards do.

Note: fish are being transferred to a 350 gallon tank with fresh running water to flush out any extra "pond smell" before being cleaned and frozen.

Connor, I doubt that there is much way to do it other than fishing. Try live bait when they become hook shy.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

If your bottom is not too mucky to walk through a seine might be your best option.

See this thread for how to do it from another forum user:
