I harvested some of my albino CC about 35 adults. Stocked four years ago harvested between 8-14lbs. Three of them had a knot near the back of the head about the size of a penny to a nickel. It’s very hard could barely get a knife in it. Thoughts?

I can't help you with the ID of the bump on the head but I'm impressed you could harvest 35 adult CC at one time. What is the secret for harvesting them?

That's odd for sure... it doesn't look inflamed or like there is a penetration in the skin, it just looks like you surgically inserted a ball bearing. lol I don't know about the bumps, but I bet that was a fun day! Thanks for sharing the pic, bud. Cheers, Clayton ps. Where can I score one of those Vertex shirts? I harvested some of my albino CC about 35 adults. Stocked four years ago harvested between 8-14lbs. The albinos are getting VERY hard to obtain here. I hope you saved a few adults and can spawn them. Someone in Ohio bought all the albino breeding stock in Arkansas a few years ago. Subsequently that Ohio operation seems to have gone out of business. I have about eight or nine adults in my pond now, up to about 7 lbs., but don't have a place to grow them out if I was to spawn them in my minnow pond. The bass and bluegill in the other ponds would eat the small fingerlings quickly.

The Herman Bros. have a bunch of albino catfish. I don't know where they get them or how far they deliver.

They are in our hybrid Bluegill pond feeding very well on them. Busting them in the middle on the surface. I set 3 rods using small goldfish, circle hooks with drag off. I transferred about 10 to pond I hope they will spawn in next season. I did not put any with odd bump into the hatchery pond. Thinking maybe a tumor or cyst.

A bump on the back of the skull cap is called an intelligence knot. or at least it is with a bird dog. lol I always looked for that bump when looking for a new bird dog pup. Maybe same same with your cats
