Zip in my area of northern Indiana and it can stay that way.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

I think, so far, that I have about 2 inches.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

It's supposed to be in the 70's and sunny today. Tomorrow, it's suppose to only be in the 50's with rain.

Nothing in SD, George. It stayed south of us. Forecast is for upper 40s. The snow geese arrived last week!

Dave,

Do you have Sandhill cranes up there? I have about 14 that call a small wetland home within a half a mile of the house. Man are they noisy!

Cecil, that is really cool that you have them so close. Don't they make a unique sound?

We get a few flyovers here, so I'll hear them a few times this spring, I'm sure. The biggest concentration of Sandhills goes west of us. In fact, there is a huge tourism industry, I believe, along the Platte River in Nebraska where they build up for their spring migration to the north. Shorty, Omaha, or Dr. Bruce might be able to tell us more about that spring stopover.

Yes it is unique and the sound carries a long way! Sometimes they just fly around and around at a high altitude for no apparent reason making their strange sounds. Don't mind it but they are noisy!

Last I checked, we were up to 53 F today. Nice day. No wind. Plenty of sun.

Usually we get about 8-12" in March. Saturday we got maybe 1/2", gone by this morning. I think we are all done for snow. My garlic chives and onions I planted last year are doing their thing
