Not long ago there was a discussion here about trimming the fins on small bass for foreage for the larger bass. I can not seem to find it now. I know there were several recomendations on which fins would best to trim but I can not remember which ones they were. Any help would be appreciated.

ALL FINS! clients have actually caught the bass after taking off pelvic and dorsal fins, we cut every one including the tail fin and the bass can still barely swim. If you want it as bait cut them all to increase chance of bass as bass food.

I agree with Greg, but I'll take it a step further by singling out one fin--

You MUST cut the caudal fin. I've had the same experience as Greg's clients in that I caught 2 bass with literally no dorsal fin or pelvic fins left, but I had not previously cut the caudal fin. If that bass still has an intact caudal fin, you can't be sure it will get eaten.
