Dallas, Texas.
These are early construction. Lake has several springs that flow into it. You’ll see on one of these the water level is already moving up with out any rain.

These were taken about 2 weeks after lakes completion. Water is crystal clear at this point but will darken up in the next 30 days.

Pier work is complete until water level stabalizes

Moving into Fall

Water Coming Up Nicely

January 9th and lake is full. Some of you veterans will look at the shot North to the dam and see an area of concern….Not enough free board form surface to top of dam on the West side. This is the first of 2 problems to surface.

These shots show what we just completed. Yes, we chose to raise the dam 5 feet because some areas of the lake did not fill up like we thought. My contactor brought in a back hoe and dug for new clay next to the old lake back and hauled it to the dam and re-compacted it. Of course the pier had to be raised as well. This is money that I did not plan on spending but it will make the lake look 100% better. Remember the old saying; measure twice and cut once.

I have 3 duck lagoons cleared out that will now fill up with the extra 5 feet of water

Nate was nice enough to post these pictures of my lake project. I started this lake on 71 acres in Wood County Texas which is 100 miles East of Dallas. It is Spring fed and surrouned by Pines and hard wood trees. It sould be about 10 acres or so when it fills up which should be in the next 60 days considering the charge flowing into it. Forage of shad, blue gill and fat head minnows are in awaiting bass in the Fall. I hope you guys enjoyed the pics and again Nate, thanks a bunch for doing the high-tech work with posting them.

Gorgeous, Shawman. Looks like it really belongs there, nestled within the forest.
