Hello all!
And how are you? I am still stuck at work (21 days so far) delivering your overpriced crude oil up and down the US EAST COAST.
I spoke to my wife today and my GAST, #1532-P104-G597X. Oil-less rotary vane compressor. Rated at 1.5 cfm compressor showed up today. Now I need a diffuser or air stone. Any suggestions? I will be running air line almost 600ft to the pond. I will be going ashore in 7 days and I plain on attacking this project head on so when I go back to sea I have happy fish! Thanks in advance, I have learned a lot from you guys and I truly appreciate it! PS small tropical depression off the NC coast may become a land falling tropical storm. MAN” DO I NEED THE WATER IN THE POND .It would be worth the butt kicking I would get as we are headed down the coast just to get the rain for my finned pets!

Old Salt,
What size pump are you interested in? I just installed a surplus 2.6 cfm pump that cost 52$. The jury is still out in its performance but I can give you details if interested.

Salth20cowboy...ex-coastie here. I know how it is out to sea when you got stuff to do at home. Keep in mind, underway is the only way!
How big is your pond? How deep? What are your goals for the system to achieve? Do you have weed or algae problems to date? Low oxygen? What type of fish? What is the land around the pond made of, suburb, pasture, where does the water shed come from when it does rain?
All of these will play a roll in the type of diffuser you would want to use in your application.
I will do some calculations for you once you get back with me on these questions.
Semper paratus.

Well brother I work for a major oil company doing ship littering and underway is the word. We can not get it off and on fast enough and it changes hands 3 times before reaching port! My pond is small at or around half to ¾ of and AC. The pond was a year old in June but I cheated………..I stocked adult bluegills ,and fatheads, 3 weeks after it was built and adult bass in the fall. I have stocked again this spring with more small bass, CC and 7 adult fish up to 22inches to help control the exploding BG population. The bass that the @%#^#$&$&*blue herons do not kill look fantastic, and I have a wide variety of BG size ,and removed some adults up to a3/4 of a pound. I have had no sign of a bass spawn. The water shed is 10 AC, with run off first going into a waterfowl impound that I have a drain tile with valve that drains into the fish pond .I have the impound planted in corn and millet now and will flood it this fall.. The fields are planted in corn this year, and were heavily fertilized with chicken house litter in the spring and I have had a lot of algae this year, and my water level is down 20% due to lack of rain. The deep end is Now about 8ft and the shallow end is around 2ft with some lilly pads in containers,no other pond vegatation. I will post a pic of the pond before it was filled and after but all pics are from last summer.

The shallow pond in this pic is now dry and planted but still catches all run off which gets to the deep pond through a pipe. PS we shot alot of fowl in that pond the first year with out planting it,should be red hot this year.

In this pic about 2ft from the dog it drops straight down another 5ft. I hope to keep this area rich in DO as it may become a refuge for my fish if we do not get rain.
