Hi - I am creating a large pond about 12 feet deep in some parts and 80 x 110 feet in surface area. I am looking for a way to seal it and am considering shotcrette with zypex and/or sodium bentonite clay. Any ideas as to which would be best? Thanks, laurain

Welcome to the forum. What will you be using the pond for (goals) and if I may ask, why do you need to line it?

Welcome Laurain! I'd suggest starting out your pond education by purchasing the book "Perfect Pond, Want One?" here http://www.pondboss.com/books.htmlIf you do not have suitable clay on site or nearby, I would personally opt for sodium bentonite and use extra while being meticulous in the compaction, tilling, moisture, etc. Liners may be less expensive, but eventually they will fail although that may be a generation away.
