Last trip to the farm, I found beaver damage around my drain pipe. This is around 8' below the top of the dam, and the beaver that caused this has been removed. There are no signs of any activity, so I'll repair this before it's re-hutted.
So, the dam has an asphalt road on top, so digging out the whole section is not an option. The damage is 8' below the top, and the dam is approximately 20' thick at this point.
My question is, should I just dig this out, and repack with clay, which I have a huge pile of, or should I mix Bentonite with the clay before repacking?
I'll have a better idea of the extent of the damage after my trip down next week.
