I'm looking for ideas for the boardwalk I want to build on my pond. I like the look of Lilly pads but I also know there's lots of different kinds. What can I plant under it and not take over the pond. I plant on the walk being in about 5 foot of water but the piers might not be that deep. I like to plan way ahead these days iv made my fair share of mistakes lol.

Select hardy hybrid water lilies in the small or medium varieties. Stay away from large spread lilies. A lot but not all of the whites and yellows are large varieties.

Thank you for the advice. I like the look of the large Lily pads. Is there any varieties that has all that I want ? Large pad, slow spreader, around 5 foot deep and hardly for Kansas winters.
