several years ago one of the ponds on my farm went dry. When it did it started growing weeds. Now that the pond is back full the weeds have taken over. What should I do about this problem ? I can't put fish in it because of this problem and fishing wouldn't be worth it due to getting my bait caught in the weeds.

Drain it and dig it deeper would be the best thing todo
I believe in catch and release. I catch then release to the grease.. BG. CSBG. LMB. HSB. RES.

But, if digging it deeper isn't an option, post a few close-up pictures of an individual plant on a white background and we can ID it for you, and let you know what to treat them with.

One way to manage unwanted plants is with regular "mowing" with the Jenson Lake MowerTM. Try to cut early enough that they don't get a chance to form seeds, that way you thin out the growth for the next season. Some lilies and cattail die if they don't make it back to the surface before you cut again. You can save time by leaving non-critical areas uncut; just focus on your swimming/dock area, the view, etc. Leave the rest for the fish and just trim the edges neatly. It makes a world of a difference. See lakemower.com .

A very good product and the owners are great PB people and very generous.
Cutting weeds and removing the cuttings is a very good way to remove excess nutriients. They will be very heavy though.

Thanks Eric, very generous of you! Sorry I've been gone a good week and just now saw your kind words.
