Hello.
I know that crayfish eats Chara and Filamentous algae.
I would like to know which plant the crayfish Orconectes virilis eat.

Most all common crayfish species will eat about any type of green plant material. Both FA and chara are preferred foods.

az - Papershell crayfish (Orconectes immunis) are a better species to use with yellow perch compared to O. virilis because O.virilis gets larger and is more aggressive compared to papershells. Thus the perch would be better able to forage on papershell vs the northern crayfish (O.virilis).
