I have a nice 53 ac cypress & tupelo gum swamp (likely an old river channel) along Hatchie River in West TN on my property. Good fishing this time of year & good duck hunting in the fall. The river floods the swamp spring & fall. Beaver control is done annually. In between these times the lilly pads make it unusable, completely covering the swamp with pads standing 2' over pond surface. Between the lilly pads & healthy cottonmouth population, it can't be used. Any effective way to reduce/eliminate the lilly pads?

David - HABITAT aquatic herbicide, topically applied, has been a very effective control-measure for various lily species. It is very capable of providing excellent root control on treated lilies, unlike several alternative treatments. Plus, you may selectively target some areas while leaving others unaffected, if so desired. Be sure to tank-mix a quality surfactant (wetting agent) with the HABITAT treatment if you decide to try this option. KD
