After reading the numerous favorable opinions on aerating ponds, I'd like advice on an economical aeration solution as I am spending most of my funds while constructing and stocking a 1.6 acre pond in N.W. Tennessee.
Considerations:
The closest electrical connection will be around 150' from the middle of the pond.
The pond will be 14' in the deepest part near the dam. I believe the average depth will be around 8'.
I haven't decided on the type of fish to stock, but am considering primarily CNB & LMB. I would also like to add black crappie if my pond would support them.
I could possibly add the aeration system later (after saving funds for the project)
Thanks for any advice,

No crappie. Not in that small of a BOW. Maybe after the LMB are 12"+ long.
You can save for a year, I don't think you "need" to fire up the aeration system the first year, the biomass won't need it. It wouldn't hurt tho!

I just searched for BC and read all the educated warnings. Maybe they aren't the best option for me.
Is there a forum with fish descriptions, abbreviations used in the forum, and planning considerations?
