Well I re dug my pond 3 years, the first year I had a bad pond weed problem. 2nd year I added GC and had a medium FA problem. This year I have my GC and a four diffuser system putting about 1.25 cfm to each disc in the deepest part of the pond. Plant life is maybe 10% of the pond FA is only a few small patches. But my water is a deep brown green. Visibilty about 10 inches with my disk. I am used to the pond being clear with plants, I gota say can deal with brown and no plants just making sure I got my things straight.

Hey Cody,
I am not an expert by any means but I can tell you this. My pond had about 60 percent weeds when I first got it 2 years ago. I put 5 GC in then the next year I noticed a reduction in my pond weed for sure, but I still had a LOT of chara. I then put 2 more GC in last fall. They were bigger at about 12 inches. Last June i started to aerate my pond until Oct. then I shut it off. This year is when I have noticed a bigger difference so far. A lot of my weeds are gone I would say I am about 10 to 20 percent at the moment, but chara will be coming around soon so not sure on that yet. I have noticed my pond water is not as clear either but still much clearer then yours. I can still see a good 3 feet or so. I used to be able to see about 6. I think your ok. I wouldn't hurt for you to have a about 20 to 25 percent weeds but I can't believe that will make or break you in any way. As far as a clear pond goes there are pros and cons to that too. I like seeing my fish, but remember if you can see them they can see you! A clear pond is harder to fish IMO so as long as your water is tested good and your air is working good your fine. If you want clearer water I know there are a few guys hear that can help you with that! Hold tight maybe someone will chime in.
The only difference between a rut and a Grave is the depth. So get up get out of that rut and get moving!! Time to work!!
