So I have two of these pumps. One in operation and the other as a back up. I have had to install the back up pump as the first pump was starting to get lazy after 5 years of running.

I have order up a couple of rebuild kits for these pumps. My question is these pumps have all kinds of configurations even the same models. Has anyone got a link to the different configurations for the valves and intakes exhausts. Configurations for high volume low pressure or high pressure low volume?

Anyone with experience rebuilding these bad boys with any tricks that might be handy to know before I give it a try?

Cheers Don.

I did find a service manual on line.

I now see how the different configuations are done. It looks like its all in where the valves are placed and how they are placed.

Any tips for taking it apart will be much appreciated still.

Cheers Don.

I am running a 2660 as well. I'll be following this for future reference.

There's a rebuild video on YouTube in case you haven't already seen it.

Did the rebuild yesterday. Very simple only needed a #27 torques and a 1/4 drive socket. I did notice all the bolts that were inside the pump had lock-tight on them. I added blue lock-tight back on them when installing them back in place.

Quite amazing how warn out the old pump was. The valves were all ok really, but the cylinder and piston ring/seal was shot.

Cheers Don.

Don can you estimate how many hours per day or days per week that pump ran before needing to be rebuilt?

Not knowing the condition before as I did buy both of my pumps off Ebay. The first pump was run 24/7 for five years. It still pumped air to 12 feet and 16 feet where our stations live.

Our pond is just under an acre but very deep with 1 million gallons. In the summer after ice out we run it 12/7. The two Vertex disks will turn the pond over so well that it will super heat the water to equal the air temp. After we get the temp to 55 we run it at night for 12 hours 7 days week.

I now have our second pump on it. We will run it until we start to see the boil calm down from what we normally see.
