Looking to purchase an aeration Kit, max depth of my .62 acre pond is 15ft.

Jones recommended : CPA-1 system ( Thomas Compressor ),https://jonesfish.com/collections/diffused-aeration/products/cpa-1

looks like a 4 stone design, how does that compare to the disk design of vertex?

Anyone ever purchase aerator from Jones fish?

Looking for something quiet , don't mind running 24/7 , it will be located close to the dock so may turn off during parties / etc.

Would it benefit the noise if I placed the unit behind the dam a couple feet lower?

I am working out the details wrt an aeration system and have stayed away from having air lines traveling up hill then back down to the pond. I had the same idea of putting the pump over the dam to reduce the noise, but have decided to put it up hill from the pond so that the air line/s always run down hill to the fusers. I don't know how big of a problem condensation in the lines can be and I don't want to find out.

My 2 cents.

Stones must be cleaned at least monthly using muriatic acid and the bubble/lift efficiency is about 10% of quality membrane discs or teflon sleeved tubes.

If you like quiet, look into AirMax shallow water systems for up to 10 foot depths....over 10 feet, I'd go with a rocking piston compressor to handle the higher pressures, but noisier...

They offer an upgrade on the design

I will look into Airmax as well. Pond is 15 ft deep so I assume to most effective I need it at close to that depth.

IMO, The bubble hoses plug up faster and worse than stones, leaving only "relatively" huge bubbles coming out that lift very little water while rising....for the most water lift, you want lots and lots of super tiny bubbles

I agree with Rainman on the bubble hoses and I would like to know how they are easily cleaned. The bubbles are tiny and great on new bubble hoses. Algae can grow very well and tight down in those porous rough surface hoses. I've seen algae attach so tight to a smooth rubber membrane that a sharp putty knife would not remove it. I finally used a razor blade to scrape the membrane. Knowing that how does one get tightly attached algae off of rough surface?
