I've been lurking for awhile ...and, it appears most in the forum are more aeration and less fountain oriented, I was hoping for some assistance in going the right direction based on my needs.
I have a house in the burbs in Northern Virginia ...the usual 5 acre kinda property ...it had a spring fed pond that also served as drainage containment during rainy times of the year. After working on the house for a few years, I stabilized the pond sides, installed a runoff drain pipe from the point where the drainage deluged into the pond, and installed a stand pipe with underground culvert to the other side of the road that fronts the property.
The pond is about 3500 SF on the surface (kinda oblong), about 6 ft deep in the middle sloping gradually to a few inches along the side. During the worst cold over the last 20 years, the surface skimmed over to maybe an inch at most of ice, the area where the spring entered stayed unfrozen.
That was about 10 years ago. About five years ago, just as the driveway was being poured, I ran (can't recall exactly and its now underground) 8-3 or 10-3 UF cable from outside the house near the inside panel, to the side of the pond and buried everything about 2' down. I have lots of power available.
So, I find myself (finally) able to install some form of fountain with lighting - and, hopefully pick up some aeration benefits for the sterile carp I keep in the pond.
Frankly, I want a fountain look that is somewhat dramatic - with nighttime lighting - as viewed from the house and the street ...and, would likely not run it very often.
I'm pretty at ease building and have installed centrifugal pumps at a lake house, done all the wiring, etc.
Looks like I have on the order of 60k gallons. I wanted to have the fountain reach 10' or so above the surface and have lights that are not too ostentatious (yeah - always in the eye of the beholder).
There are lots of options, apparently ... I need some help getting going in the right direction ...
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!
I would work backward. Look at some of the fountain manufacturer websites. Find the kind of fountain (with light kit) that you like. Do the math (electrical load wise) for the HP pf the fountain pump and lights that the fountain has, making sure to take into consideration the length of run. Having wire that is a wee bit too small shortens the life of many pumps.
If you can run a 220v fountain you will be better than running a 110v fountain.
Make double sure that the ground is good and run a GFCI
Some fountain mfg's.
Vertex Kasco AquaMaster
They even have fountains where the lights can be remotely controlled like a remote control for a TV.
