Ok, so i have been searching the forum looking for answers but cant really find them. I am new to the forum and ponds. The house I bought has a pond I think it 1/2 acre (180 length x 90 at widest point). You can fill the pond at one end, the middle, and then the widest point (at this spot it fills from the bottom). It is about 12-15 feet deep. The previous owner had a fountain type aerator, however that recently broke off. Should i just replace that or build my own system with diffusers, something like rc51? I have attached a picture of the pond so you can get an idea of the shape. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
First thing would be to determine why the turbidity? Why is it becoming so muddy
A simple jar test (grab a mason jar-dip it into the pond-then it is sit for a few days) will tell us what you are needing to focus on to help the clarity.
Mean while still look at the options on aeration and what you want to pursue

Alright so I looked at the water through a jar and it looks clear. There are large amounts of algae on the sides. It seems to have particles suspended and that is what is giving the brown color to water. There is also a large amount of silt on bottom
