I have a 2 1/2acre new pond filled with well water and it is 12 feet deep and holds a little over 2 million gallons of water. I am considering a gast compressor that at 15 psig is 10 cfm for aeration. This would accomodate up to 3 diffusers. I would like some feed back on what I am considering. The reason for going this way is cost. I have a 3 hp well pump to feed this pond. All the clay for lining this pond had to be hauled to the site. The pond has proven to be more expensive than planned even though we knew we would have to truck in all the clay. I would appreciate any and all feed back.

deaner - Double check the specifics for your compressor. The 3/4 hp Gast rotary compressor that produces 15psi generates only 8 cfm and the 3/4hp unit with 10 psi produces 10cfm. At 12 ft deep the 10 psi unit is very adequate and a better buy for your situation. You do not need the 15 psi model. It is for water deeper than 18 ft. The 10cfm unit can even operate 4 diffusers (10" disk membrane)however with four each of the boils will be slightly weaker than if you used 3 diffusers.

Food for thought:
I have a 1/3 hp Gast compressor (4.2 CFM) that I run 4 airlines off of. Two diffusers are centered at equadistances in the center of the pond and two are in between four floating cages. I am amazed at the boils I get at each diffuser!
Water depth varies from about 8 feet to 11 feet depending on which diffuser.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
