Has anyone tried to make a floating fish feeder frame so that you can mount a cheaper TH deer feeder on it. My back pond will flood over 12 ft. sometimes. I would like to have something I could attach with a long rope that will not flood the feeder. Thanks for any info.

Two ponds, 13 and 15 acres on the Mattaponi River.

hey Ken, just trying to give you some kind of response here, but can't really help you out much though.

When you say flood 12', is that in depth or distance from shoreline?

I was considering the same thing a two months back, but by the time I figured up the cost for building a good enough framework to float and the time to mess with it, I just got a good feeder because it all worked out to be about the same.

If I did do it, I would probably look at some kind of pyramid shaped frame supported by floats. An open frame type structure should just let the feed drop straight down into the water.

How about just putting the feeder on a tall stilt structure that wouldn't float? But 12' high would be near impossible.

Good luck, Jim

Fish, the pond is on the river so it floods that much in height or more.

KenC I seen a brand made by Pond King. Here is what it looked like to give you an idea.

BTW Notice the width between the flotation to act like a keel (like on a sailboat) at the bottom to prevent turning over during a Thunderstorm.

John, that is what I need but am afraid to but that one as I live 60 miles from the pond and several people have GodGiven rights to fish where they please. Thanks for the picture.

That one looks like it'd be next too impossible too full from a boat..

I believe in catch and release. I catch then release to the grease..
