New member, first post. Have been browsing for some time but am finally going to make the leap into having my pond become what i always wanted it to be.

I am located in Northern CA and am looking to have my small pond (maybe 15'x25' and about 8' deep) expanded to roughly 1/3 of an acre and 10'-12' deep. It is on a slight downhill slope on my 3 acre parcel. It is naturally fed and currently it stays full about half way through the summer since it does leak quite a bit. I have been given a quote that I feel is reasonable but was hoping to get some input on what one would expect for this project for piece of mind.
The work being done is as follows:

Clear some bushes/small stumps for new area
Dig out existing pond to larger size
Build up dam/levy on downhill side
Compact pond/levy along with bentonite clay
Build new drainage/overflow
Estimated it would take about a week or so.

Hopefully i am in the ballpark as i am very excited to see the work being done. I appreciate any input. Thank you

Have you determined the cause of the leak?

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
