I have a 3/4 acre pond that is pretty deep. It tapers off to a shallow end where the diversion ditch is. In the shallow end it gets down to about 3 feet. Has anyone sectioned off an area in their shallow end so minnows can get in their to breed and not be bothered? I have pallets and stuff but was actually thinking of making a small section using, well the idea is still in its brainstorming phase.

I think ewest has. There should be some pictures floating around where a section of the pond is segregated with netting.

The netting would probably work well but the hard part would be sealing it off top and bottom to keep predadors out. You could also create a dense area of small pine tree's on top of the pallets which would give them plenty of cover from larger fish and a place for the fry to hide.
