leaky jon boat fixes i suspect if you put a 45# unit on a 12' jon boat you could pull a skier, or at least haul a big ass stringer of fish. i have a 55# minnkota unit on a very heavy 16.5 foot modified v-hull crestliner and it moves along pretty well at full thrust.
