Another great story, Lou! Bruce, Sam Rayburn Res, is where the huge 240# gar was killed with bow. The photo was displayed here, I believe(I think you posted it on the Pirates thread) did that get you fired up to go? They are also fished for with rod n reel where the Sabine River empties into Sabine Lake. A 220#er was caught a few years back using a 2# hardhead(saltwater) catfish as bait. They used to get over 300#, but like the bluecat, have been overharvested and killed. There is an old early 1900s photo showing a man sitting next to a 10 footer that came from Moon Lake, Ms..
