I would put some of each size bass in your pond. Maybe 50% of each size or stock only the larger size. Your choice. The larger size (5")
are probably the same age as the 3". Larger ones either had more food or were faster growing.
And a few other possibilities exist for the size difference.

Your structure is a little on low side but probably adequate with your current heavy forage base. Fatheads rarely survive bass predation in any pond. Expect to see them gone by this time next year. Bgill hatch may take some pressure off the fatheads for awhile.
