I would like to build a pond/lake of about 5 to 10 surface acres. My property is in an area that is notorious for leaking ponds. I have been advised by a neighbor who is $75,000 into a pond that does not hold, to have an engineering survey done at a cost of around $15,000. I live in the Texas Hill Country with lots of limestone ledges. I would appreciate any input. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply Joe, but my neighbor consulted with the NCRS before starting his pond.
