I would prefer bottom aeration by next year. Do it yourself aerators from me can be done for about $360-380 w/out tax&shipping. However you will not do irreparable damage if you do not get it in till 2006. The muck build up will still be fairly thin by then 3"-4". Fish biomass will increase and improve somewhat after you install bottom aeration.
