Just curious. I'm thinking this RES was from this spring's hatch. Right size?

Thanks

9 yr old pond, 1 ac, 15' deep.
RES, YP, GS, FHM (no longer), HBG (going away), SMB, and HSB (only one seen in 5 yrs) Restocked HSB (2020) Have seen one of these.
I think that's about all I should put in my little pond.

To me it looks a too big to be this years hatch, it looks to be almost 5". I would expect RES that hatched in late May or early June this year to be around 1-1/2" to 2" at this point.

I'd say late last year.

Must be one of my original stockers then from April last year. Just hasn't grown much.. Others from same stocking are quite a bit larger.
Must have been the runt..

How big were last years stockers? If bigger than 5-1/2" they may have pulled off a late May or early June hatch last year.
