So in my money pit I have these little springs popping up all over the place. I cover it up pack some clay and bang it shoots over 10 feet. So I repeat and it move again. I am under the impression that when full the spring can suck water out? Also the pond has about a 20 acre water shed (it's around 1 acres and 9 feet deep) should that keep it full.Thanks for any help.

Lot of work but you may have to dig a trench where the springs are, leading to an area above your pond, but that will drain into it. Fill the trench half full of gravel, then overlay with clay. So you are sealing the bottom of your pond, but allowing the pressure of the springs to vent and the water to then run into your pond.

You could just fill in on top of them, but they may allow water to escape your pond. If they are spouting ten feet, they may have enough pressure to not backflow when the weight of water is on top of them.

If you are in no hurry, you could fill it and test if for a year. You need a good drought to insure they will continue to flow and not backflow. But to be safe, use the pressure release trench idea.

Here in lies the problem, there is a layer of gloconite and gravel under my pond and it spreads out. The spring is live in 4 or 5 spots over a 200 foot area. The trench sounds good but it may wait a year sounds like work and my summer is over.What about bentonite? Thanks Nick.

Layer of gravel - Uggg! Not good. That will certainly allow water to flow. You have to seal it somehow. Clay, bentonite or a liner. Sounds like time to call out a specialist like Mike Otto and get a professional opinion.
