Well I finally poured a nice slab and made a new fishing shed! It was needed badly. I also moved it over by where we fish more then anytime from the shore!! We made it out of 2x4 frame / roll roofing and nice red metal outside! It should last a long long time I would think!

No were leaving the inside bare for shelves and such. Going to put my rods along each side with some nice size 16 penny nails in the 2x4s. And yes we have grown to be weary of the wasps and such it's just part of the outdoor life I guess. It's pretty tight though so I hope it won't be to bad....

RC51, It sure is nice to have a place to stow your stuff near the pond. Nice job on the shed. That one ought to be maintenance free as well. I wish that was my next project, but I'm afraid it's a ways down the to-do list. We get an incredible amount of wasps in SE Texas. There is a product called "Bengal", it comes in a roach spray and a wasp spray as well. It is kind of pricey, $13.00/aerosol can. But, it has a heavy residual effect. I spray deer boxes and other storage sheds in the spring, and normally don't have any problems the rest of the year. The roach spray will last 2-3 years. All you'll need is a broom to sweep 'em up...
Have you considered cutting in a few screened vents, just to get some air circulation? I imagine that baby's gonna get pretty hot inside and a few vents could make a world of difference (consider equipment, and fishing tackle).
Incidentally, mine was supposed to be that size, then I decided 8x8, then 8x10, and settled on 8x12 (since plywood sheets are 4x8 ). Now that it's done it's complete with lights, running water, cleaning station, shelves, cabinets, windows and a porch roof .
I have no self control
PS - Between the studs is great for rod storage! I drilled holes in a 1x4 for the rod bottoms, and a 1x4 with slotted holes for the upper part. Works great and at no cost if you have some scraps laying around!
Looks good RC51. We sure do use our shed we put near our dock last summer. A lot better than gathering up all the stuff we need to fish or whatever and haul it down to the pond only to have to drag it back.
When you go to putting in nails to hold things I would suggest to use deck or roofing screws with an impact driver or drill driver. If I drive nails seems like I always see a better place for it later. With screws it is easy to change things without getting forceful and possibly destroy things. I would also suggest using screws for any shelving instead of nails for the same reason. Easy to change arrangement as needs change.
LOL Dave, I know right!! Hey thanks guys for the tips and such! I have not done a thing to it yet but might start this weekend. So glad to have the tips before I get doing! I love having my fish food closer to the pond that's for sure! And all the gear!! Makes it tooooooo easy to just grab a pole and go fishing now instead of working!!!
I never thought about vents... I may look into that even if they are smaller it would help for sure as it goes get hot here in Arkansas!!
We did put it in a spot where the sun hits the least so I hope that helps some! Once I get it arranged I'll take another pic and post!!
Thanks everyone!1

Hey thanks everyone. Check this out my mom made this for my shed. It's from some left over metal we had. My Dad cut it out and she painted it and hung it on the shed. It's actually about 2 inches off the shed so it looks kind 3D it's pretty cool!
