From what I've read, black bear attacks are usually more dangerous than grizzly attacks.

This bear was taken within 50 miles East of where I went to college.

This one was about 90 miles South of where we hunt. shot in 2010.

That's 4 over 600 pounds with the largest almost hitting 800 pounds.
