I have a lake that is about 2 acres in size. It has a leak somewhere in it. I was told about that when we bought the place. Almost every year, the water level drops to a point where it looks like it will dry up. It never does and always refills with the fall and spring rains. Never had a fish kill.
Now, it has always seemed to me that the drawdown was a healthy thing because a lot of bottom gets exposed and lets a lot of gunk dry up and get flushed out thru the spillway when we do get heavy rains.
Last year we had a wet summer so it didn't lose much water level. We only had one small flowthrough this spring.
Last summer and beginning this spring, the lake is covered in duckweed.
Question is, if I apply the high end amount of sonar/pondpak, will it concentrate too much in the water if we have a dry summer or is sonar nontoxic enough to allow a strong concentration. Also, do I need to get a good coverage with sonar. ie. spray it over the surface or can it just be poured in?
