I just noticed the sample version of Pond Boss that is on the home page (January 2005 issue). I would love to get Pond Boss both on paper and electronic. It would be great to create a CD once per year to save back issues. That way it is a lot easyer to search for information in back issues. How about it guys? I would be happy to pay a little extra to even be able to download it and then burn my own CD copy as well.

Tuzz, my guess is that things will go in that direction sometime down the line. I'd pay an extra subscription fee also.
The hard copy is nice though; don't really want to bring a laptop to the can if I don't have to.

Tuzz, I've said this before, but I'm just a little paranoid. I'm worried about archiving all of this great information that's been posted on the forum. Is there a way to convert this AND old and current magazines to electronic format? What an awful waste if the system crashed! I'm sure it's obvious by this post how computer savvy that I'm NOT.

We have been archiving Pond Boss on cd. The problem we encounter is that the file is so big, we can't email it. All we can do is a pdf, and the quality is poor. And, I have to pay attention to profitability, too. Many members of this forum don't subscribe, and without revenue, we can't exist. When we provide it electronically, it becomes available to anyone and everyone. That's good, and bad. More name recognition is good. But, when the electronic version goes everywhere, there's less incentive to write a check. While we provide a great service, with outstanding information, we need money to survive. That's the fundamental dilemma. Believe me, I would love to do it electronically, if people will pay us. It's as simple as that. At least the hard copies stay near the toilet of one house, not on the printers of everyone's.

Bob, I had the same thoughts. There's a well known Conservative talk radio host with a website which has a "subscriber" side. You have to pay a fee to go there. Would that work? Can't the Electronic Mag. be made so it can not to be downloaded?

How about selling the archive on CD? I would like that to do searches, etc.
Maybe an option with subscription to the magazine?
